Linear Current Boosters/Pump Drivers
These products are used in solar direct pumping applications. They can
achieve 30 - 90 percent increase in your water pumped than connecting the motor directly to
the solar panels. The 90 V units can operate 12, 24, 36 and 48 volt pumps from the popular
thin film panels. These thin film panels have excellent blue sensitivity giving good
pumping performance even on cloudy days.
Special models are available to operate from non-typical PV nominal voltages and power
motors of different nominal voltages. For example, 72 V nominal panels powering a 36 V motor or any combination
of panel and motor so long as the motor voltage is less than the panel voltage. This will
be useful where the panels must be a long distance from the motor, allowing wiring with a
smaller wire size as the current is reduced. The wire savings alone can easily pay for the controller.
