Charging a Higher Voltage Battery from a Lower Voltage Solar Panel
These charge controller are simple charge controllers with nominal MPPT and PWM charge control of the battery.
They operate from a lower voltage solar panel to charge control a higher voltage battery.
Listed below are the usual models that charge control a lead acid battery from a nominal 6, 12, or 24 V panel. Models are readily available to charge control different battery chemistries from nominal solar panels or even odd voltage panel.
The only limitation is that the open circuit voltage of the panel must be less than the float voltage of the battery.
